4th of July

So I know I'm a little late posting about this, but we had a great 4th of July!! Martin had to work, so I just hung out with my family for a lot of the day. Then Martin came home and all of the fun and excitement began!!:) We went up to the park because there was a potluck dinner there (which was so good). Then they had a little parade around the park for the kids. This is our wagon we decorated. (I know Spiderman doesn't really go with the 4th of July, but it was the right colors and Martin is a Spiderman fan, so we went with it anyway.) The kids were so excited for the parade and loved it!!

After the parade, there were lots of family games that everyone played until it was dark enough to light the fireworks!! They had so many games. We didn't actually participate in any of them because our kids seem to have the shy syndrome that I had growing up. They decided to just swing and watch everyone else instead. It was still really enjoyable just to visit with people and enjoy the beautiful weather. My grandpa Perkins even ventured out for the evening. I thought he and Kaybree looked so cute sitting together on this bench. After the fun in the park, we headed to the elementary school for fireworks. The kids loved it--Kaybree covered her eyes and ears for some of them, but they enjoyed them for the most part. It was an enjoyable day and we're just so thankful to live where we do so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have.

That sounds like so much fun! I wish we had something a little like that here. It's cute that Kaybree covered her ears for the fireworks. Layla spent most of the night that way too!

The wagon was awesome. That picture of Kaybree and your grandpa is adorable. It seems like they have boosted up the 4th of July lately and actually kinda celebrate it now. Fun Fun
